Read from June 7th, 2018 to July 16th, 2018.
What a fun read. The Rithmatist by Brandon Sanderson is a children’s book, and one of the better ones. I was worried for that reason, but it turned out to be a great read. At times, it didn’t even feel like I was reading a children’s book.
The world building and plot is so unique – I’ve never read a book like it. Those are definitely it’s strong points. Like one of my fans said, that’s Brandon Sanderson’s specialty. The book got a tad bit slow in the middle, but it sped up real fast at the end, maybe wrapping a few things up quicker than I would’ve wanted, but still. Overall, it was really entertaining.
Supposedly, there’s a sequel coming out, and although the book stands well as a stand-alone, it does hint to a bunch of plots that could still be explored, so I hope there’s a second one soon! A sequel has been hinted to for like five years, so I guess we’ll see.
I’m giving The Rithmatist by Brandon Sanderson a 4/5 stars. My rating system is as followed:
- My rating system stands: 5/5 is a knock out of the park; this book deserves to be read by everyone. 4/5 is, “I really liked it,” but it did have a couple of kinks. 3/5 is, “I believe there are a lot of people who would enjoy this book, but for one reason or another, it didn’t sit well with me.” 2/5 is, “I really didn’t enjoy it and I’m not going to recommend it.” 1/5 is, “no one read this – throw it in a lake.”
